Biography
Brett Davis grew up in Monroe, Wisconsin with his two brothers, Bryan and Rob, and his
sister Meghan. Brett’s mom, Mary, is a third grade schoolteacher at Northside Elementary
School in Monroe and his dad, Mike, works at Alliant Energy in Monroe. Brett's family
attends Saint Victor’s church.

Brett graduated from Monroe High School and from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with
a bachelor’s degree in business administration.  Brett was a four year starter on the Oshkosh
Titans men’s basketball team and is the Titans’ all-time career assist leader.

Upon graduation, Brett began his career in public service by working for state Rep. Mike
Powers (R-Albany) as a legislative assistant. In May of 2000, Brett joined Gov. Tommy G.
Thompson's staff as a policy assistant on his tax and revenue policy team.

Next, Brett joined Gov. Thompson’s team in Washington, D.C. at the Department of Health
and Human Services. Brett served as Secretary Thompson's special assistant and advised
the secretary on rural healthcare, Food and Drug Administration and Global Health Affairs
issues.  Brett then moved back to Wisconsin to serve as the chief of staff to state Sen. Joe
Leibham (R-Sheboygan).

Brett was elected State Representative for the 80th District in November 2004.  During the
2005-2006 legislative session, Brett worked with thousands of people in South Central
Wisconsin by personally addressing specific individual concerns and community wide issues
that affect us all.  Brett continues to focus on lowering health care costs, promoting economic
development and creating jobs, strengthening our schools and bringing government
spending in line with our families' ability to pay.  

Brett is a member of the Oregon-Brooklyn Lion's Club; Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce
(Board of Directors); Monroe Noon Optimists; Monroe Kiwanis; Monroe Chamber of
Commerce; Green County Conservation League; Rock Riverfront Advisory Board; Green
County Farm Bureau; Green, Rock and Dane County Republican Party and is a 2006
graduate of the Green County Leaders Program.  

Brett, and his wife Amy, live in Oregon.  They have a two year old son, Will, and a three year
old Shih-Tzu, Lucy Lou.
